The Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse has concluded that the Church of England failed to respond consistently to victims and survivors of abuse. Shockingly, it further stated that the ‘alleged perpetrators were often given more support than victims'. Between 1940 and 2018, as many as 390 clergy were convicted of offences related to abuse.
