Foster & Coleman recently acted for a client charged with a public order offence arising from a incident at the West Ham United v Silkeborg IF Europa Conference League match at the London Stadium.
Following reciept of the initial disclosure bundle from the Crown Prosecution Service we obtained and served a number statements from defence witnesses which supported our clients assertion that he had been acting in self-defence. Upon receipt of this defence evidence the case was reviewed by the Prosecution and formally discontinued.
Our client was delighted and relieved that he was no longer facing the possibility of a prison sentence, and a football banning order.
