No Further Action in Control/Coercive Allegation

Published - Sep 26, 2023

Foster & Coleman recently acted for a client facing allegations of controlling or coercive behaviour, harrassment, and sexual assault. The allegations were made to police by a former partner and had been categorically denied in interview.

A prolonged investigation with unjustified rebail decisions prompted the defence team to procatively obtain details of a number of potential witnesses, all of whom could provide accounts which directly contradicted that given by the complainant to police. All of this information was submitted to the officer in the case, and prompted enquiries which should have been made months previously.

Thankfully we were recently contacted by the officer to confirm that no further action would be taken.
